Anna Artz Handles Belle of Cattail Storm in Utility Field Test at Rocky Mountain Spring 2016 Test.

Over the past several years, we have been holding field tests in late March or early April at Niagara Springs Wildlife Management Area near Jerome, ID. Typically, we probably test between 5 and 15 dogs split between Natural Ability and Intermediate Hunting dogs. It is a treat when we have an occasional Utility Dog. Some of the Montana contingent has been recently exploring potential places to hold a Fall test, but we have been a bit stymied over finding accessible land with all the right ingredients. Our area is typically very dry in late summer, so finding usable water is a real challenge for conducting an adequate track-of-the-duck test.

Test location: Niagara Springs Wildlife Management Area, Wendell, Idaho

Next Scheduled Test:  March 25 + 26, 2017        Saturday & Sunday

Testing starts at: 8:00 a.m. Sharp

Do you anticipate testing a dog?  Please note the following:

Dogs are eligible for the Natural Ability Test from the age of 6 months up until and including the day they reach 16 months of age. Dogs over age may be entered for evaluation only. Dogs are eligible for the Intermediate Hunting Dog Test from 12 to 24 months of age. Dogs over 24 months of age may be entered under the special category of Older Hunting Dog Test and will be judged more severely in obedience based upon their age. Dogs over 18 months of age are eligible for the Utility Field Test. Versatile hunting dogs other than Cesky Fouseks are eligible and welcome for all tests. Test rulebooks are available on line at: http://bohemiangriffon.org/progeny-testing/
